Re: LCC's Future Strategy 2003-2008
Dear Staff member/ Borough Co-ordinator/ Subcommittee member/ Campaign Group member
LCC is currently 2/3 through its Strategic Plan 2000-2002, which was developed from consultations with the entire membership during 1999. It has helped LCC in successful campaigning in the GLA elections and lobbying thereafter, the creation of a larger staff team and better services to our members, amongst other things.
We are now beginning to work on the Future Strategy 2003-2008. A Strategy Group - made up of staff, Management Committee and strategy experts - has performed detailed analyses of LCC's position and a brief summary of these has been enclosed for your information and to inform your debate.
The Strategy Group has also developed the new 'Strategy Tree' - consisting of LCC's Vision and new Strategic Aims. Your input is requested on the development of Strategic Objectives - the things that your group/committee can do or think will achieve or contribute toward the Strategic Aims. When suggesting Objectives, please remember that they should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timed). The enclosed response form should guide your group/committee in thinking about these.
As your response to this consultation may take substantial effort (possibly a dedicated meeting), the Strategy Group has set the deadline 31 January 2002. We will then be collating responses from all consultee groups and agreeing the new Strategy 2003-2008 next summer to feed into the 2003 planning process.
If you need any help with this consultation, contact either myself (chair@lcc.org.uk), Peter Lewis (peterl@lcc.org.uk) or Mark Hubbard (markh@lcc.org.uk) in the office. A member of the Management Committee will happily attend one of your meetings to help with your debate - let us know (first come, first served basis).
Finally, thanks for your input into LCC's future. It is your help that will shape LCC's future direction.
Yours sincerely
Crispin Truman
Chair, Management Committee
