Saturday 2 August: Easygoing ride: The Chill Out one. Meet Cutty Sark Gardens 10am for a gentle ride, mainly off-road to Hyde Park. We'll spend the day chilling out in the park, sunbathing, playing games, relaxing. Bring food to share and frisbee, football, rounders bat etc. This ride is designed for beginners and families, but all welcome. Hilary 07929 722 973

Sunday 3 August: (see Sunday 16 March for more details): Sustrans Ranger Ride. Meet 10am Cutty Sark Gardens and cover the Thames Path to the Woolwich Flood Barrier. Adrian 07941 462082

Sunday 3 August: North Downs Ride. Meet 9am CSG for a more challenging road ride around the lanes of North Kent, the North Downs and Sevenoaks Weald. This will follow a similar route to the annual Ride of Falling leaves ride. Sabine 020 8305 2661

Saturday 9th August: Herne Hill Velodrome: we've taken it over for our exclusive use again. Borrow one of their track bikes and ride the banked concrete. No cars, no traffic lights, no potholes, no junctions, no motorbikes or pedestrians.....no brakes, no gears, no back-peddling. Huge fun, a different sort of biking. This pro-trained session qualifies you to use the track. It takes most people, and children from 8 up, about 10 minutes to get the hang of it. Meet 11am Cutty Sark Gardens for slow ride there via coffee in Dulwich park, or there at Burbage Road, Dulwich at 1pm for 1.30pm start. 3 hours. £10/£5 unwaged. Free to spectators! Sunday 10th August: Bike Stall and Dr Bike session. 11-4 at Thamesmere Leisure Centre, Thamesmere Drive, Thamesmead. Talk to our members about cycling in and around London, sign up for lessons and maintenance classes and learn about our wide variety of rides to suit all ages and skills.  Dr. Bike will check over your bike and answer questions about those squeaks and rattles. Saturday 16th August: Lewisham ride to Brighton. 10am Cutty Sark Gardens 10:30am Ladywell Fields, Ladywell Bridge entrance, Lewisham. Then to Brighton. 56 miles, some hills, nothing most people can't cope with. Lunch at the Dog & Duck in Outwood. Sunday 17 August: Sustrans Ranger Ride. Meet 10am at Woolwich Thames Barrier for to Erith and Dartford. Adrian 07941 462082. (See 16 March for more details).

Monday 18 August: Cycle Obstacle Course for 8-12 year olds. A fun way for children to improve their cycling skills with professional trainers.  2-4pm Ocean Park, West Street, Erith (by the youth & family centre).  Children must have their own bike and helmet.  Contact Frances on 01322 441 979 to book.

Friday 22 August-Tuesday 26 August: The Wild Wales Weekend. We had a great time last year. The weekend is centred around the 500 rider Wild Wales Challenge. It's a circular 80 mile jaunt starting and finishing at Bala in the very big hills of Snowdownia. Finishing is a huge kick, but it's very easy to do just some of it. We do much easier rides on the other days and will, for example, get the lovely steam railway to the coast one day. We've blocked booked a hotel in central Bala. oin us for the hole long weekend, or just some. Saturday 23 August: Tower Hamlets ride to Kew and Richmond. All day outing - ride along the river to Kew Gardens (17 miles). Spend time there then option to head back or carry on to take in Hampton Court, Richmond and Bushey Parks before returning for a total of around 40 miles. Sunday 31 August: Lewisham ride to join Richmond -Windsor Bike Events ride. We'll start from Lewisham and ride to Richmond for the start together. There's an entry fee (£10) and don't forget the train fare home (back to Waterloo). It was fun last year and much of this route is different to the one that some of us used to get to Windsor Park in the summer. Meet 8am Lewisham Library (jn.
