Nick to check on barriers at Thames Path east of Woolwich - are they an obstacle to cyclists/wheelchairs/buggies?
3. Rides
John Hearns in a message said he would lead a Valentines Day ride on Feb 13 to Borough Market, Bridget Jones's house.
Anthony said he would lead a ride to Crossness Engines on one of the "steaming days" (now proposing June 5).
Liz to enquire at LCC about insurance on regular rides and during Bike Week.
4. Bike Week
Teri, Liz, David and Andy said they would join a sub-group with John H, provisionally meeting on Thurs Feb 17 in The Dog & Bell.
Ideas for rides so far: a short pilot ride like last year, Tour de Greenwich events, Cycle Training (but ask the Council to arrange this time).
Derek offered to organise a barbecue on the first or second Saturday.

6. 2012 Olympic Bid - Cycle Funds
Nick said up to £1000 was available for events which qualified.
Bike Week sub-group to download application at www.volunteer2012.com/grants, establish deadline, suggest schemes such as cycle event including handicapped in Dulwich Park, and/or breakfast meeting.
7. Schools Project
Derek read out a letter from Malvina Crook, teacher at Thomas Tallis secondary school, enclosing the positive results of a cycling survey in Year 7. She said an application for funding would be made end-Feb connected with the School Travel Plan encouraging children to use more eco-friendly ways of travelling. Derek said the proposal was for 30 pupils to be trained in the summer term, after school, maybe also a maintenance class with parents.
Nick said GEMS had been unable to evaluate a cycle project at Eltham Greeen secondary school because the teacher involved had not replied to letters and phone calls. Nick to copy this letter to the deputy head.
8. Planning
Meetings with Council scheduled for Feb 9 with lead office Don Anyiam and March 9 with Councillors. Agree to await outcome of these before considering tabling questions in full council.

Nick to ask officials from the proposed Lee Valley Velo Park to speak at our April meeting.
