The council is insisting that kids wear helmets and kids are being turned away because of this. The school has decided that they are going to buy some helmets (15) and we have got 4 donated from Halfords. We have got some money set aside, which we could use to buy helmets. This week is the last week of the first set of bike training for the kids and next week starts a new 5 week session.

Dr Bike maintenance is going ahead and cycle training are taking care of this aspect of the project for us.

There is no news from the Neighbourhood renewal fund as yet.

It was suggested that a ?Get fit campaign? be set between Christmas and the New Year to coincide with kids getting new bikes for Christmas. The idea would be to teach kids how to safely ride their new bikes. It was agreed to set up some easygoing rides for this purpose. (See 9 rides for details). It was also suggested that we could repeat the campaign in the spring with "Spring into Action".
