Saturday 1st November
Seven people in total turned up on a crisp autumn day at the Cutty Sark as
usual. We set off along the Thames Path, then swung inland at Greenland
Dock to follow some of Roger Stocker's new cycle route through Russia Dock Woods
and up to Stave Hill - the highest hill in the area. Even at 30 feet high
there is a surprising view over the south of London.
Onwards past the newly relocated Dr. Salter's Daydream statues to
Southwark Cathedral where we had a coffee in the very good cafe.
Ten minute cycle then to the Tate Modern and a walk over the Wobbly
Bridge. Black marks to the Thames Clippers crew who didn't want five
bicycles aboard - but we didn't care. As David says - saved us the price
of a pint to cycle home anyway!
